General conditions
Enrolment
To be effective an enrolment should be sent in any written form by e-mail, fax or post.
Registration fee
An amount of 50 € (59,80€ incl VAT) is due for each participant. If a participant combines several courses this amount is only to be paid once. And we will not charge this fee if a student comes back during the same year. An amount of 20€ (23,92 € incl VAT) will be charged if Idiom is to take care of accommodation.
Public holidays
Lessons missing due to a public holiday are not lost but entirely compensated by lessons or activities, except for 1st May (International Labour Day) and 14th July (national holiday).
Public holidays in 2012 with compensated lessons are : 09/04, 01/05, 08/05, 17/05, 28/05, 14/07 (Saturday), 15/08, 01/11, 11/11 (Sunday). 17/05/12 is a public holiday but lessons will take place normally.
The school will be closed from 16/12/11 until 09/01/12 and from 15/12/12 until 06/01/13.
Insufficient number of participants
It may happen that there are not enough students of a level to make up a homogeneous group. In this case IDIOM will apply the following alternatives :
Chosen course :
EMD : you are alone, you will receive 2 private lessons per day + 4 or 6 lessons per day in a group GMD.
SIC : you are alone or 2 participants, you will receive 3 times per week 2 semi private lessons per day as well as 2 lessons per day in a group of a different level or 1h30 of self-study, guided and corrected by a teacher
ABI/MAT : you are alone or 2 participants, you will receive 2 semi private lessons per day as well as 4 lessons per day in a GMD group or 3 hours of self-study, guided and corrected by a teacher.
You are 3 participants, you will receive 4 lessons per day in an ABITUR/MATURA group as well as 2 lessons per day in a GMD group or 1h30 of self-study, guided and corrected by a teacher.
SP : you are alone or 2 participants, you will receive 3 times per week 2 semi private lessons per day as well as 2 lessons per day in a group of a different level or 1h30 of self-study, guided and corrected by a teacher. The number of afternoon activities varies according to the number of participants in the programme (3 afternoons instead of 4)
FFT : you are alone or 2 participants, you will receive 2 semi private lessons per day as well as 4 lessons per day in a group GMD or 3 hours of self-study, guided and corrected by a teacher. You are 3 participants, you will receive 4 lessons per day in a FRENCH FOR TEACHERS group as well as 2 lessons per day in a group GMD or 1h30 of self-study, guided and corrected by a teacher
Special starting dates for students with elementary level for the EMD, GMD or SIC courses
Students with elementary level who wish to take an EMD, GMD or SIC course must respect the specific dates for this level (see course description). These dates are : 09/01, 06/02, 20/02, 05/03, 26/03, 16/04, 30/04, 14/05, 04/06, 18/06, 02/07, 16/07, 30/07, 13/08, 27/08, 24/09, 05/11, 03/12/2012. Complete beginners are not accepted in group courses. If a student with this level does not respect these dates IDIOM cannot be held responsible if there is no group of an adequate level and will not offer any compensatory private lessons or refund. The student can, of course, pay a supplement to transform his group course into individual private tuition.
We remind you that we do not run group courses for complete beginners but students of this level can book private tuition (IND20, 30…) and start whenever they wish.
Insurance
Every participant has to take out an individual insurance in his home country in order to cover the risks during his journey and stay.
If the participant’s personal belongings and values are not insured against theft, loss or damage, IDIOM will in no case be held responsible.
For minors under 18, a release must be signed by the parents and returned to the school before start of the course.
Payment
Full payment should be made at the latest on the first course day without any cost (bank charges, etc.) to IDIOM. Payment can be effected in cash or traveller’s checks in EURO on the first course day or by bank transfer before the beginning of the course. You can find our bank co-ordinates on the invoice.
Visa
If a visa is necessary all tuition fees must be paid before any confirmation from IDIOM is given. These fees will be refunded if the visa is refused.
Cancellation
In case of cancellation after booking and confirmation procedure the registration fee of 50 € (59,80 € incl VAT) is due as well as the placement fee of 20 € (23,92 € incl VAT) if accommodation was booked. In case of cancellation between 7 and 13 days before the course starts 100€ as well as the booking fee of 50€ (59,80€ incl VAT) and 20 € (23,92 € incl VAT) placement fee will be invoiced, if this service was booked (either 150€ / 179,40€ incl VAT or 170 €/203,32 € incl VAT). Last minute cancellation = 6 days and less before course starts = no refund, course and accommodation services remain due.
In case of a modification of a booking (change of course/dates or type of accommodation) we will invoice an additional fee of 10€ (11,96€ incl VAT).
Any course that has already started is entirely due and cannot be refunded. This also applies in case of absence on the starting date of the course.
If a student decides to leave or change his/her host family in the middle of a week, the entire week will be paid to the first family.
The school will exclude anybody from the school in case of improper behaviour.
